The Zamfara state house of assembly member representing Anka local government Rilwanu Marafa Anka (Na Gambo) has raised alarm that all the seven wards that are outside the local government council headquarters of Anka are under the control of armed bandits.
The lawmaker who stated this in an interview with the BBC Hausa service on Wednesday insisted that for the past (15) to (20) years, armed bandits have been terrorizing his constituency of Anka.
He said, except for wards within the local government council headquarters, the entire villages of Anka are under the control of the armed bandits.
He explained that even Anka town, the main local headquarters, is no longer safe hence bandits for the past four days have been launching serial attacks on the people.
He added that one cannot travel (50) meters outside Anka town without falling into the hand of the armed bandits or facing the risk of being killed.
He lamented that as lawmakers they have been raising these issues of insecurity with all sense of seriousness and always transmitted their resolution to the state for action, but it seems the situation is out of control.
He called on the Federal government of Nigeria to come to the aid of Zamfara hence the level of insecurity ravaging the state of Zamfara is becoming alarming.
