The publicity subcommittee for Sen. Yari Scholarship initiative has commenced a familiarization tour of some media organizations in Zamfara state.
The tour which began at Radio Nigeria Pride FM Gusau ended at Vision FM in Gusau, the state capital.
The subcommittee has contacted all the state conventional media outlets, seeking additional participation and collaboration for the initiative.
During the visit, the Chairman of the Publicity subcommittee, Hon. Ibrahim Maigandi Danmaliki Gidan Goga, stated that the goal of the tour was to seek for media cooperation as an important instrument for the success of the committee.
Danmaliki Gidan Goga who identified media as a veritable instrument for reaching out to the targeted beneficiaries maintained that, establishing friendly relationship with these outlets is critical to their engagement.
He added that the program was part of the contribution of former Zamfara State Governor and Senator representing Zamfara West, Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, to the state’s educational development.
He also revealed that a total of 1700 qualified indigent of the state will benefit from the entire package of the scholarship project.
He further stated that the scholarship will cover tuition fee, accommodation, and feeding allowances and learning materials throughout the course of study.
In their separate reactions, heads of the media organizations visited expressed gratitude for considering them worthy of contributing to the Yari’s initiative, noting that the program was initiated at the appropriate time.
They expressed their determination to continue to support the initiative for better result.
