In order to eradicate the threat of banditry, kidnapping, and terrorism from the Northwest, the Federal Government has ordered Bello Matawalle, the Minister of State for Defense, and senior military leaders to relocate to Sokoto State.
Henshaw Ogubike, the Ministry of Defence’s Director of Information and Public Relations, made a statement that included this information.
According to the government, the decision was a part of a more concentrated effort to eliminate the threat of terrorism, kidnapping, and banditry in the Northwest.
The federal government conveyed its sorrow for the terrorist and bandit activities occurring in the states and surrounding areas, adding that the calculated action demonstrated the government’s steadfast dedication to reestablishing security and peace in the area.
According to Mr. Matawalle, they would oversee activities and make sure Bello Turji and his bandit group were eliminated while they were in the North-West.
Nigerian military armoured vehicle was stuck in a waterlogged area in Kwashabawa, Zurmi Local Government Area in Zamfara State. Criminal bandits circulated videos of the vehicle, and after officers were asked to withdraw, the bandits went to the area, recording and celebrating the incident. This is unacceptable, as President Bola Tinubu has been supporting the Armed Forces of Nigeria. The Federal Government is concerned about the persistent threat of banditry and terrorism in the North-West, and is ready to deploy all necessary assets to ensure peace is restored to communities.
In order to allow people to walk freely, he continued, action against the terrorists was urgently needed.
The time for these terrorists and outlaws is up, he said, because persistent and escalated operations will undermine all of their foundations. I think my presence in the Northwest will motivate our military personnel.
Mr. Matawalle further guaranteed that the security forces would spare no effort in driving out the bandits to the people of Sokoto, Katsina, Zamfara, and Kebbi states, as well as the people of the entire North-West area.
I shall be commanding our courageous men and women in uniform while on the ground in the North-West alongside the CDS and other military officials. In light of the Federal Government’s desire to safeguard the lives and property of all Nigerians, I further urge citizens residing in these states to maintain their vigilance and to work with law enforcement. The minister continued, “The government’s first concern continues to be the security and well-being of the people.
