The Beacon Security and Intelligence Consulting has released the May 2025 data where it indicates that there is sharp reduction in criminal activities which resulted in death among Nigerians as at May 2025 to about 5.99% when compared with the statistics in April 2025.
According to the report in April 2025, a total of (1,092) people have been killed as a result of various criminal activities while the statistics increases to (1,296) in May 2025
This strongly suggests that there is an increase of about 18.68% of those killed in May 2025 when compared to the situation in April 2025
On kidnapping for ransom, the report states that a total of 1,178 persons were abducted in April 2025, while in the month of May 2025 the number of those abducted dropped to about 1,086
This means there is a sharp reduction to about 7.73% when compared with the development between April and May 2025.
On the factors responsible for the increase or decrease in the number of those killed or abducted, the Chairman of the consulting firm, Dr. Kabiru Adamu said the development emerged as a result of the measures instituted most especially by the security agencies, which he described as temporary.
He advised that more people be involved in trying to make the country more secured.
The data, according to Dr. Adamu is usually gathered field public consumption as a result of effort by research assistants of the firm and also data from the open sources.
