Some suspected armed bandits have stormed Dankurmi village of Maru local government Council killed an elderly person in the operation and abducted ten people including the wives of Alh Sani Usman the district head of the Dankurmi in Dansadau Emirate.
It was confirmed by an eye witness that, the bandits after invading the area around 2:00am on Friday razed part of the village and murdered one Alhaji Haruna Koli, an elderly person before kidnapping the victims.
It was learnt that throughout the period of the attack no security operatives were present to curtail the bandits.
Residents said, despite repeated calls for the government to deploy adequate security personnel in the area for the past eight months the government did not heed to their calls.
0“We leaves in a densely forest, our safety is threatened. This is the third time the bandits are coming to kill and abduct people recently in Dankurmi area,” one of the residents said.
When contacted, the State Police Command Public Relations Officer SP Shehu Muhammad confirmed the incident noting that, ten residents of the area have been abducted.
He said additional re-enforcement of security operatives have been made to make the area well secured.
