It has become significant to make a clarion call to the Governor of Zamfara Dauda Lawal to as a matter of public interest come to the rescue of Samaru people by compelling the construction firm handling the dualization of Lalan to Samaru road RONCHES Limited to please ensure speedy and timely completion of that essential road.
His Excellency, people of that are area are very disappointed with the chameleonic nature at which this company is handling the dualization project.
The company has been on that road for more than a year now without any significant progress to make people proud of.
There are nor serious construction equipment deployed by the company to ensure speedy and timely completion of that road and also the very few ones they brought were virtually parked as one hardly sees them working on sites.
The staff except in some exceptional cases are always sleeping inside the company trucks while residents are being punished with dust and other unwanted substances that are hazardous to their lives.
Excellency, residents had been crying for your intervention to force the company to change its mode of operation for longer time, but it seems their appeals do not yielded the desired result
When compared with the performance of the other sister company TRIACTA that handles the dualization of Gusau hotel junction to Investment house, one needs not to be told that the Governor needed serious companies like them, not the RONCHES limited.
And very unfortunately it’s like there is no supervising ministry that monitors this construction firms and even if there is, the Ministry has not been very effective in handling its statutory responsibility on that particular road project.
And it’s our candid assumptions that the problem is not fund release and if it is the case the Governor need to do the needful to save the state investment made so far.
The fear the residents and even the commuters have is that now the rainy season has begun and if the company did not speed up the completion of the project it may end up becoming another heavy burden and a serious waste of resources for the state.
It is our candid views that the Governor as a matter of public interest will soon paid a working site visit to Samaru and see things for himself and also force the company to either complete the project within the time frame to be specified or revoked it and hand it over to TRIACTA for speedy completion.
It is our thinking that the company should feel so sad that the TRIACTA came after them but almost completed their project with citizens jubilating as the capital city is wearing a new look.
Furthermore, it is our hope that the Governor will do what is necessary to ease the suffering people of the area and indeed the commuters may face in the few weeks to come due to excessive rainfall that are anticipated.
May God torch the heart of the Governor to heed to this essential call.
