Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle has called on the Federal Government to come up with a vibrant economic programme that will be used to engage all repentant bandits in the state with a view to preventing them from returning to the evil acts.
The Governor stated this when he received the Nigeria’s Inspector General of Police who paid him security visit at the state government House Gusau on Thursday.
The Governor also stressed the need for the Federal government to consider the possibilities of setting up of centralised security operational command that will confront the belligerent bandits who violated the terms of the peace initiative.
While thanking the IGP and his entourage for the visit, he pleaded with every concern stakehokder in security architecture to work hand in hand with the security agencies and the government regardless of political differences with a view to achieving collective peace.
Earlier, the Inspector General of Police disclosed that, the purpose of the visit is to rub minds with the security stakeholders and come up with the optional ways to confront the dwindling security challenges facing the state.
He used the opportunity to commend Governor Bello Matawalle for taking proactive measures aimed at confronting the security challenges facing the state.
He further acknowledged with gratitude how Governor Bello Matawalle provided operational vehicles for the security operatives and his his provision of consolation support to the families of seven deceased police officers who died recently in a ghastly motor accident while returning from an operation between Zamfara – Katsina border.
