A former lawmaker from Zamfara Abdulmalik Zibairu Zannan Bungudu has denounced the rumor that he had once defected to the opposition People’s Democratic Party during the lingering APC crises in the state.
Zannan who spoke in reaction to the allegations raised by one of the aspirants that contested the Friday primary elections with him Abdulrahaman Muhd Tumbido said, when he saw the news trending that he has defected to the PDP he immediately denounced it and even wrote to the APC Chairman in the state notifying him of the development that he is still in the APC.
“It was one of my political aides Jamilu that announces my plan to defect but even himself has never said I have defected rather he called it a plan, and I wrote a letter to my APC Chairman denouncing that rumor and even took it to the High Court for sealing.
On the allegations that he has camped the entire delegates at the command Hotel, Zanna said “among the delegates there are married women and aged persons, how on earth can I camp these types of personalities because I want to secure votes”?
While describing Kogunana Maru as a seasonal politician, Zanna said, the primary election exercise in his judgement is in tandem with standard best practice.
Regarding the issues raised against the default in the accreditation of delegates, Zanna urged Tumbido to clear his grudge with the party; hence it’s purely a party affair.
