A former Senator from Katsina State Senator Abu Ibrahim called on the federal government to be more alive to its commitment of ending the incessant killings of innocent souls in the different parts of the country noting that, the situation is becoming out of control
The former Senator who is a close political ally of President Muhammad Buhari noted that, unless serious measures are put in place what is happening specifically in the North Western part of Nigeria will create a serious crises hence people are becoming tensed with the manner bandits are killing them day in day out without adequate protection by the government .
The Senator who spoke through the BBC Hausa service this morning lamented that, people of Nigeria are becoming helpless and that after 21 years of uninterrupted democracy Nigerians are still clamouring for their security and safety.
On the issue of what is happening in North Western parts of Nigeria particularly, the former Senator advised President Muhammad Buhari to as a matter of public interest inaugurate a special committee that will come up with moderlities of how to end banditry in the region.
He advised that, the committee should be headed by a Governor from the region, and ministers of defense, interior and that of Police Affairs be made to be members of the committee opining that, unless these states in the North West are able to come together to adopt one single strategy to fighting this insurgency the security situation in the region may not ends.
