“It seems from the look of things, APC Leaders in Zamfara do not learned the bitter lessons of losing an election and if genuinely the answer is in the affirmative, then one should not bother about the mess that is happening within the party in the state”.
On Monday, Senator Ahmad Sani Yarima the former Civilian Governor of Zamfara stated in a video clip that APC Leaders in Zamfara had met and resolved to allow Sen. Yari to be the new leader of the party in the state.
I am sure if the reconciliation is genuine true APC supporters in the state would be very happy because at least they have feel the bitter impact of playing an opposition politics since 2019.
But even before the counter video clip by Senator Marafa today, a rational thinking person will ask this silent question that how genuine is the reconciliation?
The reason for this question is simply because for sometimes now, the only factions that see themselves as bona fide members of the APC in Zamfara are the factions led by Sen. Yari and that of Matawalle.
Sen. Marafa, Sani Shinkafi, Jaji factions and the rest are deemed to be considered “in consequential” in the Project of APC in Zamfara and everyone familiar with the political development in Zamfara knows this and can attest to it.
Rationally again, since after the 2023 elections, one will wonder—why has the APC Zamfara failed to meet and conduct a genuine post-mortem of why it has lost the governorship race to the PDP in both 2019 and 2023? And what can be done to remedy the challenges.
Instead, just like what many observers used to say same political elements that played the dubious role of making APC loss election in 2023 came back to wear some new faces and pretend to be the real and genuine lovers of the party in the State.
It is also an open fact that, any attempt to call the attention of the APC Leaders for them to understand that the party is divided in between the lines of fractions these politicians within Zamfara APC would delegate some rowdy political crackas to be calling people names on the social media simply because they want to cover their mess.
Good party men are those who accept their failures in good fate and also work toward amending their weaknesses to prepare for success in the future.
Now that Sen. Marafa denied holding the reconciliation meeting where Yari was made the leader of the party in the state, what signal is the message sending?
Unending crises of course, because the way things are going, APC Zamfara will continue to die in problems unless if the leaders understand the danger ahead and work toward fixing it for the liberation of the party.
No one is against political reconciliation, especially the one that will breed equality, equity, justice, and fairness and anything short of these will inflame deep fire into the political substance of the party in the state and the consequences would surely manifes in both 2027 election and beyond.
It is still not late for Zamfara APC Leaders to have a rethink and work toward bringing all stakeholders on board and also work as a team to ensure that the party is ever united.
Now that Marafa had spoken his mind and widening the understanding of his supporters toward reality of things within Zamfara APC I am sure Wamban Shinkafi faction would also speak on the fate of the reconciliation the same thing with Jaji even though some people doubt if Jaji can speak against the decision of Senator Yarima but time will be the judge.
Whatever happened time will surely be the judge!!!
