The Chairman of Zamfara APC former Governor Yari faction Lawal M. Liman Kaura has described the decision of the national headquarters of the APC to issue certificate of return to Tukur Umar Danfulani as the highest level of political impunity.
Kaura who spoke exclusively to the managing editor of this medium said all they knew was Zamfara was not among the states where the certificate of return of its chairman would be issued since they have a pending matter before the Court of Appeal Sokoto.
He added that for the National Caretaker committee led by Mai Mala Buni to act on the matter which is before the court is a clear demonstration of how clueless the leadership of the party at the national level is.
“Gabdon Kaura also called on democratic institutions local and international community, security agencies to hold them responsible for any breach of law and order that their actions may bring”.
“We expected the caretaker committee led by Mai Mala Buni to respect the court and suspend any action pending the outcome of our appeal, but so surprising the committee acted contrary the rule of law”.
“We will remain determined, just the way our leader Abdulazeez Yari used to caution us to always be law-abiding. We will wait for the court of appeal to determine the issue if it means going to Supreme Court, so shall it be until justice is done” Kaura added.
He called on the supporters of APC Yari faction not to be demoralized by the action of the national headquarters, hence the leadership of the movement led by Yari will continue to pursue justice using appropriate legal means.
Concerning the threat by the Governor to demolish all APC offices that does not belong to his camp, Kaura said it was unfortunate that such statement is coming from a Governor who is supposed to preach peace, justice, and fairness to his people. He said the party led by himself will not be deterred by such types of statement; hence they would be ready to protect themselves and their properties against any form of impunity by the Matawalle led APC.
“We are surprise at the Governor’s pronouncement as the number one leader in the State and the chief security but if that is what he mean we are ready to defend ourselves against any political impunity”.
“Using government agency of the state that suppose to serve all indigenes in witch haunting those tagged as opposition is a call for a anarchy as its undemocratic and we will resist it”.
I am therefore for calling on the security agencies local and international Democratic institutions to call Matawalle factions to order and it should be hold responsible for any breach of law and order that their actions may cause in the state
