The Chairman of the Zamfara state chapter of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Comr. Sani Haliru has raised a serious concern over non implementation of the approved (N30,000) minimum wage by Zamfara state government.
The Chairman who spoke on behalf of the members of both the the NLC and TUC during their interface with the state Deputy Governor Hassan Muhammad Nasiha said, the union is also concern about delay in the payment of monthly pension to the state pensioners.
He also highlighted the inability of the state government to settle the backlog of gratuities to retirees from both state and local governments.
Other challenges he raised during the meeting include delay in the disbursement of the second trench of contributory pension funds to the affected workers, as well as lack of possibility of the state government to implement the thirty thousand Naira minimum wage.
He appreciated the concern of the state Deputy Governor Hassan. Muhammad Nasiha for his interest to intervene in the state labour crises and for granting the labour unions the deserving audience to air their grievances to the government.
