An Islamic scholar in Zamfara Malam Ahmad Ibn Umar Kanoma has urged the public to support thousands of internally displaced persons who are roaming the streets of Sha-iskawa and other areas of Gusau the state capital.
Malam Ahmad Kanoma who made the appeal shortly after the Jumuat prayers said, the rate at which IDP’s are coming in to the state capital is alarming noting that, people need to assist them especially with food stuffs.
“The internally displaced persons in their thousands are all over the streets of Gusau, the situation is alarming and people need to be helpful to these vulnerable groups of persons who are victims of the current social crises”.
He said various centers have been designated for the public to donate food items and clothing materials to these vulnerable people and urged to be kind enough to help out especially with food items to alleviate their suffering.
He prayed for God almighty to bring an end to this tragedy that befalls the state and country at large
