The three days activities marking the formal take-off of Open Government Partnership initiative for Zamfara State has come to an end on Thursday with a commitment by all stakeholders to move on with the formulation and adoption of two years action plan for the State.
At the day one and two of the training, government actors and members of the civil society organizations were trained separately on the ground rules and operational framework for the OGP and how the concept of co-creation would work in achieving the desired result.
At day three, both State and non-sectors met to agree on the areas of commitments and also the strategies to go about implementing them.
At the end of the session, both parties agreed that each member of the thematic areas meet at a convenient day to perfect their strategic action plans that best fit into their areas of commitment.
It was resolved that, both thematic lead shall work toward perfecting their segregated action plans and get it integrated from now to December 2021.
It was also agreed that, the Civil Society shall meet to produce their co-chair and work with the state actors to perfect on the date for the formal inauguration of the movement.
The state focal person who doubled as the Special Adviser Strategy Garzali Shehu Ahmad said, with the union between the government actors and civil society he is optimistic that, issue of good governance would no doubt improved in the state.
He also assured that, Governor Bello Matawalle is committed to supporting OGP and urged all actors involved to bring their experiences to bear in addressing the socio-economic crises in the state.
He also thanks the OGP Secretariat, Arewa Research and Development Project and all other stakeholders for making the activities a reality.
