A chieftain of All Progressive Congress APC Sani Abdullahi Wamban Shinkafi has declared that, the decision of Governor Bello Matawalle to issue brand-new vehicles to the (17) emirs of Zamfara is borne out of his desire to boost their morale and sustain their reputation as royal fathers.
Wamban Shinkafi who stated this during an Iftar (special breakfast with the heads of media organizations in Gusau said, former Governor Yari and his family members had enjoyed the luxury of official vehicles worth over N2.8 billion Naira using state government funds.
He stated that, one of the vehicles used by the former Governor Yari was valued at N175M naira and nobody raised alarm in Zamfara, adding that because the Governor has decided to honor the emirs as royal fathers the issue has become a source criticism by some political opponents.
He described, as unfortunate, the manners in which people are celebrating the former Governor after he allegedly looted state funds while in power.
Furthermore, he added that since during the days of former Governor Mahmuda Shinkafi Zamfara emirs were not issued with brand-new official vehicles until now.
“Those challenging the decision of Governor Bello Matawalle for issuing brand new vehicles to the Emirs are sadists and enemies of progress. If I had my way to become a Governor I can buy for the emir of Shinkafi a car of over (N100M)” Wamban Shinkafi added.
