A chieftain of All Progressive Congress Sani Abdullahi Wamban Shinkafi has urged those who can afford to secure license and own barrels to defend themselves against the armed bandit invasion.
Wambai who stated this in on Wednesday during an Iftar (Ramadan breakfast) with the media practitioners in Gusau said, the security situation in the country is beyond the government and therefore urged the members of the public to compliment the effort of the government by being prayerful and also mindful of the security threats around them.
“I advised that those of you who can afford should secure a license from the appropriate authorities and own a barrel for self-defense. Those of you that cannot afford barrels should go for the locally made and also secure license from the local government authorities. People need to arm themselves”.
He also warned people to be vigilant and be wary of the activities of the informants, who always take advantage of the movement of the situation and cause problem for the people.
“If you drive into your house, and you saw someone making phone calls track him and inquire who he is and if you are not too sure arrest him and take him to the police for investigation” Wambai added.
He said the government of Matawalle is doing it’s best to ensure that the security situation has improved and prayed for all and sundry to continue to support the government in that direction.
