Zamfara state police commissioner CP Ayuba Elkana has presented a cheaque of two million five hundred thousand naira to the families of five slain police officers.
CP Elkana who was represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police Operation Olubenga Adepoju said the gesture is part of the continued effort of the IGP’s
toward sustaining the welfare of the men and officers of the police.
According to the police spokesperson SP shehu Muhammad the event took place at the state police command headquarters in Gusau.
Shehu Muhammad said the police commissioner appreciated the effort of the Inspector General of Police for his continuous support to officers and men across the country.
The CP described the gesture as timely, and it will go along way in alleviating the suffering being faced by families of deceased police officers, and further assures that, the IGP will continue to put in their best in the discharge of their duty for sustained peace, security, and safety of Zamfara State.
The Commissioner of Police therefore charged the beneficiaries to utilize the money judiciously, noting that, in the last ten (10) months, the command had received similar cheques from the Inspector General of Police ten (10) times and presented same to the beneficiaries.
One of the benefiting families, Favor Peter, who spoke on behalf of other beneficiaries, thanked the Inspector General of Police for the gesture and promised to use the money judiciously.
