The Zamfara state Coordinator of National Human Rights Commission Abdullahi Abubakar has declared that Zamfara State has recorded over 200 cases of rape From January to December 2022.
Mr. Abdullahi who spoke exclusively to Thunder Blowers during a TV Show programme held on Saturday.
He noted that, the figure represented the only cases that are reported while he maintained that there are several other cases that were not reported due to the social, religious and cultural considerations.
He stated that the cases reported involved the minors, married women, and even men-to-men which mean homo-sexuality.
He explained further that, they have recorded many cases involving Islamic school pupils’ as well as conventional Islamiyyah schools.
Abdallah said, the Commission also recorded cases of housewives subjecting minors to Sexual Abuse as result of marital jealousy.
He lamented that the number sexual assaults recorded from the activities of armed bandits continued to take the larger share of the rape cases recorded by the state.
