ZMSG RE-AFFIRM ITS EARLIER STAND OF SHUTTING DOWN PRIVATE SCHOOLS OPERATING BELOW MINIMUM STANDARD

Zamfara State government has reaffirmed its earlier stand of closing down private schools operating below basic minimum standard with a view to ensuring that quality of education is safeguarded in the state.


State Commissioner for Education Ibrahim Abdullahi Spirow gave reaffirmation during the maiden re-union of All Teacher College (ATC) Maru on Saturday.

He insisted that the state would not compromise the standard of education and warned that any private schools that is operating below the basic minimum standard will be shut down by the state government.


The Commissioner who represented Governor Bello Matawalle at the occasion commended the old students for organizing the maiden re-union and assured them of the present administration’s readiness of  lifting the standard of education through various reforms.


Alh Musa Mailada Maru who was the Chairman of the occasion declared that the old students of the college have made the institution proud considering their creative roles in their respective areas of professionalism.


The Provost of the State College of Education Maru Dr. Ibrahim Usman and former Registrar of the College Alh Ahmed Rufai Gusau commended the old boys for making the reunion a reality and urged them to continue to come up with initiative that would help their alma mater.


Over 100 members of the old boys attended the occasion where Professor Sa’idu Muhammad Gusau of Bayero University Kano and Professor Musa Garba Maitafsir from Usman Danfodio University Sokoto presented papers at the occasion.
