13 SOLDIERS, (180) BANDITS KILLS DURING OPERATION IN ZAMFARA

Thirteen (13) soldiers and over one hundred and eighty (180) bandits died as a result of serious encounter at Zamfara forest early this week.

Witnesses told newsmen that the encounter took place at a bandit hideout along Dansadau forest in the state.

The eyewitness stated further that during the encounter several number civilians were also killed as a result of various shots from the stray bullet.

Earlier, the local vigilante groups confronted the bandits after becoming threat to the people of the area before military later came in for intervention.

The source indicated further that, during the military operation, (69) civilians were killed at Mutunji, (27) others at Malele and (6) others from Dansadau.

The source further stated that scores of other injured individuals were hospitalized at Yariman Bakura specialists hospital, Gusau.

The military used fire jets to spread bombs at the various bandit hideouts, a circumstance that resulted in the killing of (180) bandits.

Thirteen military operatives were equally confirmed killed during the encounter.

Another source said, there are (73) others that are currently hospitalized as a result of the military operation.
