Reports have indicated that, one of the bandit leaders, Dogo Gide has married for himself one of the female students he abducted from FGC Yauri.
It was also reported that, he gave other abductees in marriage to some of his accomplices.
Salim Kaoje the Spokesperson of the guardians of the abductees stated that he was reliably informed that Gide has forcefully married his younger sister (Farida Kaoje) who is among those abducted at the FGC Yauri.
It could be recalled that, for one and a half years back, Dogo Gide and his team has launched an attack on the FGC Yauri where he abducted (90) individuals including students and teachers.
He stated that, he has abducted the students and teachers of FGC Yauri to trigger the anger of the Kebbi State government for its refusal to fulfil the pledge it has made to him earlier.
Though some abductees were either released or escaped on their own, many are still held in captivity despite several appeals by the parents and other concern stakeholders.
Kaoje stated that Gide reliably informed news men that he placed a ransom of N100M as condition for releasing the abductees as pay back for the betrayal by the state government of Kebbi
He alleged that he was used to negotiating the release of the abductees of Kagara in Niger state.
He stated that he assisted the government in securing the release of the abductees of Kagara in Niger State when other bandit groups abducted them.
As of now, the remaining students of FCG Birnin Kebbi has spent (554) days in captivity.
