The Federal Commissioner for National Population Commissioner in charge of Zamfara state, Hon. Muhammad Muttaqa Rini has organized an interface with the members of the Ulama Consultative Council in Gusau on Sunday.
The objective of the interface was to use the opportunity to engage the renown Islamic scholars in the state on the need to carry the message of sensitization on the 2023 census to the grassroots.
The Federal Commissioner who explained the need for the people of the state to understand the significance of the census beyond knowing the figure of the population of the people noted that census data is basically the parameter for measuring indicators of sustainable socio-economic development of the people.
He said, the interaction will serve as an eye-opener for the Islamic scholars to understand the dynamics of the population census and why they should support the commission in sensitizing the large community.
He thanked them for their support to the commission, and urged them to renew such commitment with a view to ensuring that the census exercise has succeeded in Zamfara state.
Highlights of the interface include paper presentations by some Islamic scholars on the significance of the population census.
