The presiding judge of the Federal High Court Gusau Justice Aminu Bappa had set aside 10th of August 2022 for Dr. Bashir Maru to assemble his witnesses for cross-examination by the defense counsels.
Dr. Maru is challenging the conduct of the APC primaries for Maru and Bungudu where he participated as one of the aspirants.
Earlier at the court proceeding on Tuesday,, counsel to Dr. Bashir Maru Barr. Kabiru Muhammad had asked the court to allow for the argument on the motions of preliminary objection filed by the defense team.
But the presiding judge insisted that the new high court practice direction which is enforced has encouraged counsels to argue motions on preliminary objections at the end of the trial.
He was asked to bring his witnesses in court on Wednesday but due to the prolong session on similar matter brought by Abdulrahaman Tumbido his witnesses cannot be taken for cross-examination.
He was later asked by the Court to assembled all the witnesses by 10th, 11th and 12th of August 2022 for cross examinations.
