Special Adviser to Zamfara State Governor on Urban and Regional Planning Board Comr. Anas Abdullahi Kaura has reaffirmed the position of his Directorate that no political party shall erect a campaign billboard without authorization.
Kaura who stated this during a Press Conference on Wednesday insisted that the law establishing ZUREPB has empowers the Directorate to issue approval to political parties for erecting campaign billboards.
He described as unfortunate that, someone like Mukhtar Lugga will ridicule himself too low to be making allegations that are baseless and unfounded.
“It is true that the PDP has written a letter seeking for approval to erect campaign billboards and the application is undergoing an administrative process which every other party allows”.
“ZUREPB will not be scared by the political propaganda by the PDP because there is a law guiding its operations, especially as it relates to putting campaign structure as well as erecting campaign billboards and PDP shall play the game according to the rule and such precedent shall not be compromised because of the PDP”.
He noted further that “APC as the ruling party has to undergo same process, and it has paid for every campaign billboards erected and PDP must do the same”.
Regarding the relocation of the PDP Secretariat as ordered by the Directorate, Kaura insisted that the order stands and that PDP shall hasten the relocation before the law work on the party.
He said every structure erected has been issued with development control approval and if for any reason the purpose is to be changed ZUREPB has to be notified and its approval has to be sought for.
