Zamfara state government has released the sum of N289,036,000 to National Examination Council (NECO) as payment of registration fees for Zamfara state final year students.
The Governor of Zamfara state Bello Muhammad Matawalle who announced this during a formal of 2023 appropriation bill on Thursday said the objectives of the payment was to enable the affected students to access their examination results and proceeded to their advance level of education.
Governor Matawalle said in addition, the sum of N15,000,000 has been paid to National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies for the Arabic and Islamic-related examinations.
The Governor added that another N6,600,000 has been paid for NABTEB, which is the examination body for the technical schools.
He added that, his administration has introduced the writing of the mock examination to prepare the final-year secondary school students for relevant examinations.
“We released the sum of N38,000,000 for the conduct of the mock and Junior Schools Leaving Certificate examinations. For our Science Schools, the sum of N38,000,000 was released for the purchase of science equipment and reagents” the Governor added.
