Governor Bello Matawalle has approved the recruitment of over (300) teaching staff under the state Female Education Board.
The recruitment exercise has commences on Friday was extended to Saturday and hundreds of applicants had applied for the interview.
Executive Secretary of the Female Education Board Mrs. Aminatu Ahmad Abubakar said the recruitment followed an executive endorsement by the Governor, which was as a result of the need assessment conducted by the board during its familiarization tour.
She noted that the Governor was excited with number of volunteering teachers that have been making giant sacrifice for some selected female schools across the state and outrightly ordered that, they be absorbed into the formal teaching job by the board.
“We are absorbing those teaching staff that have been volunteering in our schools, and we are given emphasis on teachers with specialty in science courses, and they will be deployed according to the area of needs and in consideration of the principles of Quota system”.
She also noted that procedures for the conduct of the interview have been enshrined and, so far, the exercise has been a transparent one.
Concerning the issue of lopsidedness in terms of deployment of teachers, especially to the rural areas, the Executive Secretary noted that the system she met under the board has done its possible best to ensure equitable distribution of staff according to the needs and population requirements.
She noted further that she is also working to strengthen staff deployment based on the principles of Quota system.
She used the opportunity to thank the Governor for given them the opportunity to conduct recruitment of new teaching staff and assured him of the commitment of the staff of the board to lift the standard of girl-child Education in the state.
