The District Head of Yankuzo in Tsafe Emirate of Zamfara state who sustained injuries from various gunshots by the bandits has been announced dead.
Late Kogo Hamza who was shot severally by the suspected bandits while returning from Tsafe on Friday was rushed to the Federal Medical Center Gusau before he was announced dead by the hospital officials.
Yankuzo is the hometown of Ado Alieru one of the Zamfara bandits leader who has been re-declared wanted by the Police in Katsina.
A source from Tsafe Emirate authoritatively informed this medium that the bandits wanted to kidnap the late monarch who was on his way to Yankuzo after attending a meeting at the Emirate council when he refused to stop, and eventually, they opened fire on him.
Another family source informed this medium that the late monarch was fired on the chest six times by the bandits who chased him along his routes.
Police in Zamfara could not be reached for comment as at the time of filling this report.
