Some suspected bandits had abducted over (200) male households in a village called Randa in Dansadau Emirate Council of Zamfara State.
Reports by Radio France International (Hausa service) on Monday indicated that the bandits that perpetuated the act are those loyal to the popular bandit leader Damina.
Among those abducted were children of under-age, whose location of movement is not yet known.
It was also reported that the attack which resulted to the abduction of these number of households led to the killing of twenty persons.
The bandits were said to have launched the attack as a result of having their two operational guns missing.
The guns got missing as a result of a fight between bandits loyal to Damina and another bandit camp along Randa village.
The fight occurred as a result of a woman from Shinkafi who alleged to be a fiancé to Damina when she visited the area.
Earlier than the fight, the bandits have been enforcing a levy on the people of Damina town, and people agreed to pay the levy to continue running their affairs.
The District Head of Damina once told Premium Times, an online news medium, that the levy that has been enforced on the people of Damina had been settled for long; hence people need freedom to continue with their normal businesses.
The fight between the two bandit camps had lasted for a week now, and the Shinkafi woman was allegedly responsible for it.
Both side of the bandits loses their members to the gun battle and that particular incident resulted in Damina visiting Randa village to conduct the burial of his people killed during the encounter.
During the investigation by Damina he discovered that two guns belonging to two of his men killed during the encounter were missing.
He then decided to abduct over (200) individuals including household and the young children
The traditional ruler said they have complained to the security agencies but no action was taken
