Zamfara State government has approved the termination of the appointment of Alh Aliyu Tukur ES, the State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning.
Secretary to the State Government, Kabiru Balarabe Sardaunam Dan Isah announced this via a statement issued to newsmen in Gusau on Thursday.
The statement ordered the former Commissioner to hand over all office facilities under his custody to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry with immediate effect.
ALLEGATIONS OF ANTI-PARTY AGAINST THE COMMISSIONER
A source from the APC Zamfara had confirmed to this medium on condition of anonymity that the party had received a series of intelligence regarding the embattled commissioner that he has been romancing with the opposition People’s Democratic Party led by Dauda Lawal.
The source said many a time the party received information that the political attitudes and body language of the Commissioner toward APC and the Governor has been worrisome.
“He always criticized the Matawalle government that made him a Commissioner amidst series of protest by member of his political constituency and when the pressure became tensed we have to force the Chairman to report him officially to the Governor so that he can be put on the watch”.
The source added that, “even though the Commissioner was issued a warning to clear his status over allegations of anti-party he became so strong to continue to be condemning the government he is serving, and I think the Governor has taken the most appropriate step of relieving him off his appointment so that he can go and play his PDP politics in the open”.
Another source from the Ministry of Budget who craved for anonymity said, “for long the Governor supposed to have removed him as Commissioner because he does not wish the government well”.
“The most frequent thing he does all the time was to be criticizing the Matawalle government and at a point, we begin to wonder what this man was waiting for because it seems he had lost confidence for himself as Commissioner and he supposed to take a vow and leave”.
The source added “for long we have the information that he has been in touch with the PDP Gubernatorial candidate and that he has been making the burst that he is living the APC, and we wonder why he stayed so long without living the government.
HIS STEWARDSHIP AS COMMISSIONER IN MATAWALLE GOVERNMENT.
A government official who spoke to us in confidence explained that his record of performance both at the Ministry of Education and now Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning remains very invisible.
“I worked with him at the state ministry of Education, and I can boldly and clearly tell you there is no single achievement the former Commissioner can identify for as part of his contribution to the development of education”.
“in fact, when he was brought to the state Ministry of Education we said the system of education in the 21st century required an energetic and very vibrant brain not people above 60s. We wonder why Matawalle brought him to education because we have the conviction that he cannot add any value to the existing system of education” the source added.
Another source from the state Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning told this medium that “his coming to Ministry of Budget is meaningless because it is a technical Ministry which we believed he cannot understand our sense of direction as it relate to how we operate technically”.
He added, “we don’t bother much about him even though he is a Commissioner because our job is technical and we always co-relate from within ourselves as professionals and get the job done”.”
Ask if his removal would not affect the job of the Ministry, the source said, “it has no effect at all because he is an outsider who does not understand much of what we do as Ministry of budget and economic planning”.
