An APC Chieftain in Zamfara Sani Abdullahi Wamban Shinkafi has declared that, the five state governors who approached the Apex Court seeking for cancelation of the just concluded Presidential election are ignorant of the laws of Nigeria.
Wambai who stated this during a Press Conference held in Gusau on Friday said the seven state Governors led by Aminu Waziri Tambuwal who happened to be a lawyer have been turned to a laughingstock hence they lacked the locus standi to institute the court case at the first instance..
He said it is only Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi or Kwankwaso that have the locus standi to approach the election petition tribunal and seek for cancelations of the election, not even Tambuwal or his co-travellers.
He insisted that the action of Aminu Tambuwal and his co-travellers is aimed at diverting the attention of the judiciary and Nigerians; hence the laws do not accord them such powers since they are not candidates in the Presidential election.
He cited that, section 136-140 of the electoral act 2022 (as amended) has provided grounds within which candidates that participated in the elections can seek for cancelations of such elections procedurally.
