Zamfara State All Progressive Congress (APC) is to bring thirty-six (36) witnesses to testify in court at the ongoing proceedings of the governorship election petition tribunal holding in Sokoto.
Lead counsel to the petitioner, Bello Matawalle Barr. Usman O. Sule (SAN) who stated this at the commencement of the prehearing session said the (36) witnesses are exclusive of the witnesses to be subpoenaed.
Dauda Lawal through his lead counsel D. D. Dodo said he is to bring (38) witnesses exclusive of the witnesses subpoenaed.
PDP through Kamaldeen Ajibade (SAN) is also billed to bring (27) Witnesses exclusive of the witnesses to be subpoenaed also.
INEC on its part is to invite (31) witnesses for cross-examination as stated by its lead counsel M. I. Dikko (SAN).
The tribunal ruled that, hence forth, parties shall within (24) hours to the cross-examination furnish the tribunal with details of their witnesses for the ease of reference.
The tribunal also ruled that interpreters should be provided for the witnesses that cannot speak the language of the court.
