Some suspected armed bandits in their large number and armed with deadly weapons had invaded Mayanchi town and killed two persons.
According to a source, the heavily armed bandits invaded the town at around 12:00 midnight and started shooting sporadically, a circumstance that scared the people.
Among those killed include the former Chairman of the All Progressive Congress for Mayanchi ward Alh Dahiru Mai Zabura .
It was also reported that the Chairman of the vigilante group of the town was also killed by the bandits during the attack
The bandits also abducted eleven other persons, including two children of the former Managing Director of Legacy Newspaper late Ibrahim Aliyu Mayanchi.
Police spokesperson ASP Yazid Muhammad was contacted by this medium, and he promised to respond to our inquiries but up to the time of filing this report he has not responded.
