The sales of subsidized fertilizer procured by Sen. Abdulaziz Yari the former Governor of Zamfara has begun.
Chairman of the Publicity Committee of Senator Yari Political group Ibrahim Muhammad Birnin Magaji who confirmed this in a statement insisted that the fertilizer is being sold at a discounted rate of N20,000 per bag as against N45,000 the approved open market price.
The inauguration of the sales of the subsidized fertilizer was conducted at Gusau, Talatar Mafara and Kaura Namoda local government councils.
The Senator has also shoulders the responsibility of paying for the cost of transportation of the products to all the designated sales centers.
According to the statement, beneficiaries from (147) political wards are to benefit from the gesture.
So far farmers have been trooping to some of the sales centers to access the subsidized fertilizer to ease their farming activities.
Chairman of the distribution committee Lawal M. Liman warned officials entrusted with the burden of selling the product to avoid the interference of the third party middle men so that the product can reach the target farmers.
