Zamfara State Government through the Secretary to the State Government Mal. Abubakar Nakwada has denied the document making round the internet that, Zamfara state government has issued approval for some suspected bandit kingpins to be paid as part of the alleged negotiation plan.

The SSG who stated this while addressing Newsmen in Gusau insisted that the administration of Dauda Lawal has re-iterated its position that it will never enter into negotiation with the bandits.

Nakwada insisted that, the purported letter was allegedly authored by some mischief-makers who are bent on causing serious confusion in the name of armed banditry.

He stated that the information contained in that letter was false and that the signatures of the Governor and that of the SSG were forged on the documents.

He stated further that Governor Dauda is all out to ensure that, peace has returned to the state at all cost.

The SSG added that, the state government has been working in collaboration with the security agencies to ensure that peace has returned to the state, noting that the previous administrations have negotiated the same peace agreement with the bandits, but it has not yielded any positive result.

It could be recall that, a letter purported to be from the office of the SSG has been circulating on the social media that the Secretary to the state government of the state is demanding approval for the release of 200M and 150M each to both Kachalla Dogo Gide, Bello Turji, Ado Alero, Kachalla Halilu Sububu and Gwaska Dankarami.

The letter has also purportedly requested for the release of money running into millions of Naira to some selected media promoters including Sahara Reporters N100M, Jackson Ude, N158M, Bashir Hadeja N1OOM, Shuaibu Mungadi N50M, Tijjani Lamaran N50M as well as Danbalki CommanderN20M.

The letter has generated mixed reaction from among the political and social affairs commentators hence the majority of them expressed surprise at the extent the government of Zamfara can be involved to this magnitude.

Ahmed Abubakar Maradun is a social and political affairs commentator. He told this medium in an interview that he surely doubts the authenticity of the letter in circulation.

But he argued that if the letter is genuine then the government actors had actually missed it all because in his opinion sensitive issue like this required high level of confidentiality looking at the delicate nature of the security situation in Zamfara.

He stated that the press conference by the Secretary to Zamfara State government, Mal. Abu Nakwada is not enough; hence there is need for the state government to set up a committee to investigate and find out those behind the ordeal and brought them to justice.
