The governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has announced that the 17 Local Government Transition Implementation Committee Chairmen will be dissolved on September 6, 2024, after their original six-month term was extended multiple times since their establishment on June 9, 2023.
The Governor authorized the Directors of Personnel Management in the 17 LG regions to take over local government administration until elections are held on October 9, 2024, to fill the positions. The announcement was issued by the Governor’s Director of Press and Public Affairs, Dr. Gyang Bere.
Governor Mutfwang praised the Transition Committee Chairmen for their outstanding leadership and commitment to developing community-impacting developmental projects, according to the statement.
He was proud of their achievements and challenged them to keep providing insightful advice to advance harmony and peace within Plateau State and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In order to secure the party’s victory in the upcoming local government elections, Governor Mutfwang also urged the former chairmen to work with their constituents. He emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration in achieving success in the elections. The Governor expressed confidence in their ability to mobilize support and deliver positive results for the party.
