Ajuri Ngelale, the President’s Special Advisor on Media and Publicity, Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action, and Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen, tendered his resignation on Friday.
The announcement was made via a memo that President Femi Gbajabiamila’s chief of staff received on Friday.
In a statement made available to State House media, Mr. Ngelale said he sent the President’s chief of staff a note outlining his intention to take an indefinite leave of absence.
He claimed that this would allow him to handle the medical issues that are currently plaguing his family.
A vexatious medical situation has worsened at home,” he stated, resulting in discussions with his family over the previous few days before making the choice.
I look forward to returning to full-time national service when time, healing, and fate permit,” Mr. Ngelale said. I humbly need some privacy for my family and myself at this time.
