The State Secretary of the All Progressives Congress Ibrahim Umar Dangaladima Gado (Sunny) has accused the former Governor of Zamfara State Sen. Ahmad Yarima of influencing the defeat of the APC in both 2019 and 2023 elections.
Gado Sunny made this allegations while in an interview with a local online tv based in Zamfara (Yusan TV).
He noted that it has been the attitude of the former Governor Ahmad Yarima of always fighting those who assisted him politically.
He explained that two people assisted Yarima in such a way that no any other person can do but he ended up betraying them.
He argued that, the current crisis faced by the APC is deliberately masterminded by some unpatriotic members of the APC who believed that despite sabotaging the party during 2023 election they still want to create confusion to destroy the party.
He said APC has won the 2023 governorship elections because in his argument the simple indicator of justifying the victory of a party in Zamfara is by winning Presidential and national assembly election.
He noted that, APC has won the 2023 election with two senators and five house of representatives and suddenly due to anti party activities it looses the Governorship race.
He added that PDP did not defeated the APC but rather some APC members loyal to Yari betrayed the covenant entered into during the Governorship election.
He said for those who knew Yarima very well would not be surprise that he is masterninding crises within the APC for his personal interest.
THE RUWAN DORUWA EPISODE
Gado Sunny cited the case of Alh Ibrahim Ruwan Dorawa whom he said assisted Yarima when everybody abandoned him in 1998.
He recalled that Alh Ibrahim Ruwan Dorawa had single handedly financed the emergence of Sen. Yarima as Governor of Zamfara when he was national chairman of the APP and also married him his daughter.
He also stated that even his elder brother now the Emir of Bakura refused to supported his gubernatorial candidature because he was optimistic that Yarima may loss the Governorship election.
He added that, except the late Marafa of Sokoto who donated the sum of N10M for the gubernatorial campaign of Yarima nobody with the exception of Ruwan Doruwa funded his campaign.
He added that, a year into his Governorship Yarima makes sure that he removed Ibrahim Ruwan Doruwa as the APP state Chairman, removed him as Chairman of State Pilgrims Board and appointed his elder brother same Emir of Bakura who refused to supported him and ensure that in 2002 Ruwan Doruwa was detained at Saudi Arabia.
THE YARI SCENARIO
The Secretary of the APC Zamfara accused Sen Yarima of betraying Sen Abdulaziz Yari despite the fact that the former Governor had assisted Yarima in many ways.
He said even though Yari served under Yarima and became who he was through him, after he became the Governor in 2011, there is nothing he has requested from Yari that was not given to him.
He further stated that in 2019 Yari and Yarima collectively agreed that Koguna is the sole candidate for the post of Governor of Zamfara under the APC.
But he argued that, same Yarima influenced the G8 group to contest against Koguna the anointed candidate of the duo.
YARIMA INFLUENCES DEFECTION OF MATAWALLE TO APC
Gado Sunny in trying to ascertain his argument about Yarima, he stated that Yarima brought in Matawalle as PDP Governor and motivated him to defect to the APC.
Dangaladima insisted that, Yarima convinced Matawalle that there is no way PDP can win election in Zamfara.
He stated that, after Matawalle defected, Yarima influenced an arrangement which allow Matawalle to nominate 60℅ of party leadership while Yarima, Jaji and rest produces 40℅.
He insisted that, after the arrangement of forming a party structure same Yarima instigated the reconciliation between Yari and Matawalle with a view to ensure peace within the party.
He went memory lane to explain that in order to honor the peace agreement, two Senatorial seats were given to Matawalle which he allocated one to Sen. Sahabi and the other one to Sen. Kabiru Marafa while Matawalle was allocated house of reps slots for Gusau/Tsafe, Bakura/Maradun and Kaura Namoda/Birnin Magaji which he gave to Sanusi Rikiji, Ahmad Muhammad Sani the biological son of Yarima and Aminu Sani Jaji respectively.
He said this arrangement was made in the presence of the national officials of the APC.
According to him it was in a bid to stabilize this arrangement the national headquarters of the party advised Matawalle to allow Abdulaziz Yari to lead his campaign which he out rightly accepted.
He explained that, when campaign for the 2023 election began there was no place Yarima was not carried along by the campaign team headed by Sen. Abdul Aziz Yari.
He stated that, the presidential election was conducted hitch free and APC secured full pledge victory before Yarima came back to brainwashed Matawalle that he should not allow Yari to lead his campaign noting that his supporters are not with him.
According Gado Sunny, it was so unfortunate that Yari’s supporters betrayed him and refused to work for the victory of the APC and Matawalle which resulted to the defeat of Matawalle as APC gubernatorial candidate.
YARIMA’S SON COULD NOT VOTE FOR JAJI DURING ELECTIONS FOR THE POST OF SPEAKER
The state APC Secretary explained that same Sen. Ahmad Sani Yarima that is influencing the Jaji to create faction within the APC has refused his own biological son Abba who is a member of the Federal House of Reps to vote for Jaji when he contested for the post of Speaker of the federal house of representatives of the 10th national assembly.
He insisted that, out of the three votes secured by Jaji in the race there was none that belongs to Abba meaning he does not vote for Aminu Jaji during the election of the speaker.
