The Sokoto state administration began providing monthly aid to the state’s poor on Monday through the state Zakkat and Endowment Agency.

The agency’s chairman, Lawal Maidoki, declared the exercise’s opening in Sokoto that it was a component of the government’s continuous efforts to lessen citizens’ financial difficulty.

“We are empowering 100 less fortunate people today, with each receiving N20,000, as part of the government’s initiatives led by Gov. Ahmed Aliyu,” Mr. Maidoki stated.

In all 23 local government areas of the state, he continued, “the exercise also includes provisions for medical assistance, food, and other daily needs for the needy.”

Mr. Maidoki emphasized that the administration is dedicated to addressing the plights of the underprivileged while also providing support for their well-being.

He conveyed gratitude to the state government for its commitment to furnishing a N10 million monthly support via the agency and guaranteed that the assistance would find its intended beneficiaries.

In addition, he expressed gratitude to the people and organizations that continued to assist the underprivileged and urged other motivated people to support the cause. Mr. Maidoki also mentioned that the agency is constantly seeking ways to expand their services and reach more individuals in need within the community. He encouraged the public to reach out if they know of anyone who could benefit from their assistance.

Furthermore, Mr. Maidoki revealed that the commission’s doors were wide open to the public for the purpose of collecting donations to be given to the residents of Maiduguri, Borno, who were recently devastated by flooding.
