The Oyo State Government banned head teachers and teachers from holding any kind of meeting during school hours, either inside or outside of state-run public schools. It stated that those who engage in this behavior would face harsh consequences.
While overseeing the start of classes in the state capital of Ibadan, Nureni Adeniran, the chairman of the state’s Universal Basic Education Board, made this announcement.
“All head teachers and teachers are cautioned to refrain from meeting during school hours. Any head teacher at a primary school who engages in similar behavior going forward would face harsh consequences, he declared.
As the new session gets underway, he made a plea to unions and associations in the basic education subsector to rigorously abide by the policy.
As a result, Adeniran gave the Education Secretaries instructions to share the material with every head teacher in each Local Government universal basic education authority.
In a separate development, Adeniran restated the board’s resolve to use technology to guarantee improvements in the state’s educational system.
During a three-day training session on the BESDA Attendance Monitoring Information System, he made this statement.
“The purpose of your gathering is to improve your proficiency with the BAMID application.”
Adeniran praised the UBEC for including the BAMIS APP into the daily official schedules as a tactic to enhance performance in terms of input and output regularity and punctuality, as well as monitoring and assessment of educational activities.
He also noted that the program has required a significant financial and human resource investment from the Board because it is essential to the Board’s primary mission of providing basic education. Adeniran emphasized the importance of utilizing the BAMIS APP to streamline attendance monitoring and ensure accurate data collection. He highlighted the positive impact of this system on improving overall efficiency and accountability within the educational sector.
