When George Akume, secretary to the government of the federation, led a delegation of the federal government to Majia town on Thursday to offer condolences to the local community following the tragic explosion of a fuel tanker, he revealed that Jigawa will receive assistance from the federal government in rebuilding Majia town.

Akume also mentioned that the government is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all citizens affected by the disaster, and that measures are being taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.

He claimed that President Bola Tinubu was taken aback upon learning of the explosion, which is thought to be the worst to ever strike the nation. Akume assured the residents of Majia town that the federal government will work tirelessly to provide support and resources for their recovery efforts. He emphasized the importance of unity and solidarity during this difficult time, urging all Nigerians to come together in support of those affected by the tragedy.

Since the President has a strong affinity for Jigawa and has intervened frequently in the state, he has requested an investigation into the occurrence and will take the required actions.

“We are in Majia to convey the president’s sympathies after visiting with a few of the impacted individuals at Rashid Shekoni Hospital in Dutse.

In order to rebuild the community and support the affected families, the President has also directed pertinent agencies to travel to Jigawa,” Mr. Akume stated.

Governor Umar Namadi praised Mr. Tinubu’s numerous interventions and care for Jigawa and its people, even as he praised the federal government for mourning with the state and sending a delegation. He expressed gratitude for the support and assistance provided during this difficult time.

Governor Namadi also emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration in rebuilding the community and helping those affected by the tragic event.
