According to Kamorudeen Ajisafe, the national vice chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), South-West Zone, the party’s win in the November Ondo governorship race will not be hindered by the current conflict among the national leadership.
He highlighted that despite any internal conflicts, the party is still committed to winning the next election. He expressed faith in the PDP’s capacity to go through obstacles and win Ondo State.
In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Ajisafe stated that Mr. Agboola Ajayi, the PDP candidate, still had a good chance of winning the poll.
He added that Nigerians continue to have a great deal of faith in the PDP and gave his word that the leadership situation would be handled shortly.
Due to the APC’s alleged underperformance, Ajisafe claimed that a large number of Nigerians, particularly those who cast ballots in Ondo, had indicated faith in the PDP to improve their situation.
“Our chances are bright,” he said. I can tell you that in an effort to put the PDP back in power, politicians are literally joining our party from other political parties. The PDP is certain to win this election, and the public’s backing gives us great hope.
For the sake of the nation and future generations, we urge INEC and the security services to remain impartial and permit fair play.
Regarding the PDP’s national leadership crisis, Ajisafe stated that “we are trying as much as possible not to allow that matter to affect us in the forthcoming Ondo election” and that the formation of factional groups within the National Working Committee (NWC) was the result of misunderstanding rather than a major crisis.
Ajisafe expressed confidence in the unity and strength of the PDP despite the internal challenges they are facing. He emphasized the importance of focusing on the election at hand and not allowing internal conflicts to overshadow the party’s mission. With the support of the public and the dedication of party members, the PDP is determined to emerge victorious in the upcoming election and lead the nation towards a brighter future.
