Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has placed Professor Abu Kasim Adamu, the vice chancellor of Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida University (IBBU) Lapai, on mandatory vacation.
His mandatory absence began two months prior to the conclusion of his employment with the organization. The decision was made in response to allegations of financial misconduct and mismanagement during his tenure. The university has appointed an interim vice chancellor to oversee operations until a permanent replacement is found.
According to information obtained, the Governor ordered Abdullahi Adamu Mamagi, theCommissioner for Tertiary Education, to write the Vice Chancellor a letter threatening to fire the Commissioner if he did not follow the instructions.
Since ministry employees remain silent about the matter, it is unknown why the employee was suspended and required to take time off.
According to the university authorities, Hassan Ibrahim, a Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration, was chosen to serve as the Acting Vice Chancellor and has taken on the position.
According to some of the sources, his suspension would have been due to his alleged disobedience and disdain for state government regulations.
