The Publicity Secretary of the APC led by Minister of State Defense Bello Matawalle Mal. Yusuf Idris Gusau has raised accusing finger that the APC faction of the federal lawmaker representing Kaura/Birnin Magaji Aminu Sani Jaji are allegedly in romance with the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
Mr. Idris in a statement said APC observed the “Jaji Support group’s is in constant romance with the opposition parties of PDP and the SDP because we reliably gathered that the same Mansur Khalifa led some of the Jaji Support group to a meeting in Kaduna with the opposition towards their possible defection from the APC as an alternative to them”.
The statement further added that, “the disgraceful rejoinder that Mansur signed has exposed his group’s inability to understand the language of the the communique that commended those who are loyal to the party and recognise Hon. Tukur Umar Danfulani’s leadership so why will the group that created faction complain to the leadership you don’t recognise”.
Idris said, Mansur Khalifa who signed the press statement on behalf of the Jaji faction of the APC had since being expelled from the party so he cannot make legitimate statement on behalf of the party he is not a member.
He also stated that their leader Aminu Sani Jajji was equally expelled from the party since last year.
“It is surprising that a non member of the party or someone who has been suspended indefinitely from the party right from their wards, ratified by the State Executive and forwarded to and confirmed by the National Secretariat of the party will still have the guts to meddle into the affairs and activities of the party at any level”.
“For the avoidance of doubt and in order to refreshen their memories, Hon Aminu Sani Jaji and such disrespectful persons like Mansur Aminu Khalifa were since last year 17th March, 2024, suspended from the party over their disrespect to constituted authority and leaders of the party (which the same Mansur again demonstrated in his ignoble press release of 24/3/2025), anti party and other misconduct for which they have not been recalled and therefore cannot talk on behalf of or claim any rights in the party at any level”.
“All the actions and the in actions of Jaji and his supporters may not surprise the party because it’s a known fact in Zamfara that jaji is the political boy of Senator Abdulaziz Yari who appointed him sole administrator and later nominated him for local government chairman elections and his subsequent nominations for the member House of Representatives but what happened at last, he bit the same finger that fed him, so his current actions would not be a surprise or a new thing to the party leadership but here, we are ready to checkmate him”.
“The party under Hon. Tukur Umar Danfulani is ready to deal with any erratic member who is trying to create problem for our party and its leadership at all levels”.
“We reiterate our party’s resolve to support President Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda and all respected state leader”
“The party communique is upheld and appreciated by all the individuals mentioned and we will always urge and encourage them to do more”.
But in a reaction to the allegations by Mr Idris the organizing Secretary of the party loyal to Jaji Hon. Bashir Ahmed Gusau Jaji faction said, “Mr. Yusuf Idris is playing with fire with his recent media outbursts, which will only expose his failed political principal, Bello Matawalle, the “lobbied Minister of State for Defence.”
The statement reminded Matawalle faction of the APC that, the defeat of Matawalle in the 2023 election by a first timer politician Dauda Lawal as the most embarrassing in Nigeria’s political history.
“I want to remind Mr. Idris that Aminu Sani Jaji has broken a political record by winning every election he has contested in Zamfara since he joined politics. He has never lost any election”.
“Jaji contested for ANPP Chairman and won with a landslide victory. He contested for Birnin Magaji Local Government Council Chairman and won. He also contested for the federal House of Representatives twice and won with a wide margin”.
“Dr. Aminu Sani Jaji’s political transformation is an indication that he represents a better choice, and his record will teach Bello Matawalle and his allies, Turkur Danfulani and Mal. Yusuf Idris Gusau, a lesson”.
“However, it is essential to remind Yusuf Idris that Bello Matawalle’s defeat in the 2023 general elections was the most humiliating for a sitting governor in Nigeria’s history since the return to civil rule in 1999”.
“As a sitting governor contesting against a first-time politician, Matawalle lost even in his local government of Maradun. He won only three local governments with massive rigging, while the first-time politician, Dauda Lawal, won ten local governments with a wide margin”.
“The celebrations in Zamfara when Matawalle was defeated were unprecedented in Nigeria’s democratic history. Even Turkur Danfulani, the party chairman at the time, could not vote in his polling unit in Gidan Roba, as women had assembled to undress him if he had attempted to vote”.
“Most of Matawalle’s supporters, including some commissioners and political appointees, were humiliated as voters rejected them. Except in Birnin Magaji Local Government, where Aminu Jaji ensured the APC won the five wards that held elections due to insecurity”.
“Before leaving office, Matawalle allegedly engaged in financial looting, which has never been seen in Nigeria’s history. The Zamfara State government exposed these atrocities, including the looting of government assets, such as cooking stoves, ceiling fans, and air conditioners”.
“The EFCC Chairman, Abdulrashid Bawa, also accused Matawalle of carelessly looting Zamfara funds to the tune of over N70 billion. These allegations have yet to be cleared”.
“Furthermore, Matawalle’s attempt to tarnish Aminu Jaji’s reputation using stooges like Turkur Danfulani and Mal Yusuf Idris Gusau will not succeed”.
“Regarding the allegations of Jaji working to join the SDP, it is merely a political bombshell. Zamfara people are aware of Matawalle’s plan to lease part of his heart to join the APC, in collaboration with Mal. Nasir El-Rufai”.
“Matawalle is negotiating to buy the entire structure of the SDP in Zamfara State to contest under it, thinking he will benefit from another political hurricane that will defeat the APC in 2027”.
“It is significant for Matawalle to face his political humiliation as the worst governor ever produced in Zamfara State. Even now, as Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, his attitude towards public office is demeaning, as he turns his office into a photo studio”.
“As for Mansur Khalifa Kaura, his political journey and profile will speak for him, far surpassing Matawalle’s. Yusuf Idris’s experience as a reporter at a local state-owned newspaper outlet in Gusau, “The Legacy,” is insignificant”.
