Zamfara State Police Command has announced the successful rescue of six kidnapped victims along Anka-Gummi road on Wednesday.
Zamfara State Police spokesman DSP Yazid Muhammad who stated this in a statement said the successes was recorded after a joint police-CPG operatives detected an abandoned Peugeot (406) Ash color where they suspected that some criminal activities like kidnapping might have occurred with the occupiers of the abandoned car.
As a result of the success of the stop and search operation which they immediately carried out, six persons namely Hon. Bakiru Muhammad Masama, Alh Dan Tani Masama, Aminu, Aliyu Bukkuyum, Ahmad Muhammad Masama, Umar Sa’ idu Ruwan Jema and Shehu Mulluwa were freed from their kidnappers.
Yazid said Zamfara state police Commissioner CP Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba, commended the operatives for their prompt response and reassured the public of the commitment of the command under his stewardship to continue collaborating with other sister security agencies in fighting criminalities and rescue all kidnapped victims in the state.
The statement added that, CP Maikaba further urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest security agency for immediate action.
