Former council Chairman for Gusau local government Hon. Babangida Zannan Damba has offered clarifications on the recent statement by Sen. Kabiru Garba Marafa where objected to the appointment of former Governor Abdulaziz Yari as the consensus party leader for Zamfara state as pronounced by Sen. Ahmad Sani Yariman Bakura.
Mr. Babangida Gusau in an interview with a home base online TV station Danfako Media Ventures, insisted that Sen. Ahmad Sani Yariman Bakura the former Governor of Zamfara was only making reference to the meeting of former Governors in his interview which Senator Marafa is not part of them.
He noted that the meeting Yarima was referring to was a meeting of Zamfara former Governors and that Senator Marafa was not a former Governor, saying with that alone there should be no reason why the statement by Yarima should degenerate into something else.
He explained that when the time come for other critical stakeholders to be invited for a meeting of such nature Sen. Marafa will surely be invited but for this first stage Sen. Marafa did not fall into the category of the stakeholders Yarima was making reference to.
“He is not the only former Senator we have in Zamfara state, we have former Senators like Hassan Nasiha, Sen. Lawal Shuaibu, Sen. Tijjani Yahaya Kaura and Sen. Lawal Dan-iya Anka and that none of them came out to raise any alarm because they knew it was not their time to be call for a meeting of such magnitude”.
