Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle has accused the serving Minister of Police Affairs Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi of smuggling two armor tanks with armed security personnel to Bakura with a view to aiding former Governor Yari of causing the breach of law and order in the state.
The Governor who raised the allegation during a Press Conference in Gusau on Thursday said, it was unfortunate for the Minister who is in the full knowledge of the security challenges facing Zamfara state to smuggle in thugs and two armor tanks to the venue of campaign rally in Bakura simply in order to aid the former Governor of Zamfara Abdulazeez Yari Abubakar achieved his selfish political ambition.
He described the action of Police Affairs Minister as something that, contradicted the objective of the Buhari led Federal Government of restoring peace in states like Zamfara noting that the Minister is supposed to assist Zamfara people with additional police men that would be used in securing the state not using police to intimidate innocent people of Bakura in the name of campaign rally.
He said the former Governor has demonstrated his political fear hence he has to resort to begging five serving Governors to assist him in winning state assembly bye election noting that Yari should have allowed Bakura people to decide the faith of the election since he has severely busted that his party the APC has been the popular party since 1999.
