Special Adviser to Zamfara State Commissioner of Finance Murtala Garba has challenged Mukhtar Muhammad Lugga the former Chairman of the Forum of Commissioners of Zamfara State to file a court case against the statement made by the Commissioner of Finance over non payment of auctioned vehicles.
He said the vehicles in questions were auctioned to the former Commissioners including Mukhtar Lugga on May 2019 but only paid the vehicles in July 2020 few months after the Commissioner of Finance made public announcement of their failure to pay the two million naira.
As for those Commissioners who claimed they have issues to reconcile with government, the Special Adviser explained that the issues are two different, the auction need to be paid as soon as government auctioned a property for you while it is only wise you pursue what you are claiming from the government through other legitimate means.
He said if one does not have money to pay for an auctioned property ordinarily one need to write an undertaking on the time frame within which to make the payment.
He challenged the former Commissioner to go to court if he has anything to claim regarding the pronouncement of the Commissioner adding that fact must be presented to the public for clarity.
