ZAMFARA CJ GRANT AMNESTY TO 62 INMATES By Umar Muhammad Maradun

As part of decongestion of Correctional Centers, ,Zamfara state chief judge, Justice Kulu Aliyu has granted amnesty to 62 inmates; including 5 condemned criminals(CC).
Speaking with mewsmen shortly after the exercise at Gusau medium correctional centre,J ustice Kulu Aliyu said the amnesty was in line with the directives given by the Attorny General of the federation  and Minister of justice to decongest correctional centres across the country.
According to her, inmates considered for pardon,  include  old age, health conditions, bailable case  and those who over stayed without trial (awaiting trial) for longer period.
She advised those pardoned to be good in their character and be law abiding citizen.
In his remarks, controller of the correctional center. Adamu Patiskum lauded the efforts of the Chief Judge for granting freedom to the inmates.
Patiskum gave the breakdown of those pardoned includes 24 people who were awaiting trial,26 on bail, 7 jailed  and were close to complete their term and 5 persons on condemned list.
Earlier on,  Zamfara state Attorny General and commissioner of Justice, Barrister Nura Zarumi revealed that the exercise will be conducted in all correctional centers in the state. 
Barrister Zarumi expressed appreciation to the efforts of  Governor Bello Matawalle where he announced the donation of transport fee to all those pardon to their home towns.
