All private schools operating in Zamfara State are to be shut down pending when they renew their registration with the State Ministry of Education.
State Commissioner for Education Ibrahim Abdullahi Spirow disclosed this during an interaction at the Standard Voice Television SVTV which was monitored by thunder Blowers in Gusau, the Zamfara State Capital.
The Commissioner who expressed dissatisfaction with the manners at which some of the private schools were issued operational license noted that, the ministry under his watch has set out new criteria for re-registration of all the private schools that re-applied.
He noted that, the measures are putin place to enhance quality of teaching and learning as well as make sure that, all private schools that are re-issued with operational license have provided conducive teaching and learning environment for their pupils.
He explained that, as soon as the Corona Virus lock down is off, the exercise will commence adding that, the present administration of Governor Matawalle will institute measures that will help revive the quality of education in the state.
