Zamfara State Governor Bello Matawalle insisted that if stepping down as Governor of Zamfara can help bring back peace in the state he is ready to take a humble position in the overall interest of the people of the state.
The Governor who declared this during an Interview with Channels TV on Wednesday said he is not a power monger, and he is ready to resign if that can bring back peace.
He said since when he come to power as Governor he has been taking measures aimed at ensuring that the federal government stand on illegal mining has been enforced.
He further noted that, the President was misinformed of the true situation of security in Zamfara noting that if he had been invited to attend the national security council meeting he would have informed the council the true situation of things in Zamfara.
